Kit Policy:

Warranty of Products

In accordance with consumer rights, all electrical products have a one-year warranty. However, if the goods were not used to the manufacturer’s instructions, user error may void the warranty.

For non-electrical items, statutory rights apply for the amount of time that is reasonable to expect, given the cost and quality of the item. It may be reasonable for a seller to return the item to the manufacturer to establish the cause of the fault – for instance, if the goods have been used extensively or were purchased some time ago.

We may ask you to return the products or provide photo evidence of the issue. With technical goods such as cameras, drills, or LED lamps, our suppliers may ask Learning Online to assess whether the consumer has damaged the goods somehow by using them in a way they were not meant to be used.

Damaged Items

It is our obligation to you that ‘Goods must be of merchantable quality – they must meet a level of quality and performance that would be reasonable to expect, given their price and description. They should also be free from defects that were not obvious at the time of purchase.

Damaged items need to be logged as a support case with Learning Online upon arrival or within one month of delivery. It is important to check all of your products upon receiving them. Check that they are correct and in good condition. If there is a damaged item, you will need to supply photo evidence so they may be followed up with the supplier.

In the instance of you receiving damaged item/s, you are not entitled to cancel or rescind the contract or claim a refund. Learning Online in conjunction with the supplier is entitled to remedy the situation by:

  • The replacement of the goods or the supply of equivalent goods, or;
  • Repair of the goods or paying for the cost of repair.

“Returning the goods to the seller or notifying the seller of the problem within a reasonable time after the consumer has had a reasonable opportunity to inspect the goods” with regard to consumer rights generally means before the consumer has used the goods.

Do not dispose of item/s of concern. Learning Online or the supplier will not be able to remedy the situation in an instance where the items have been disposed.

Missing Items

If items are missing, you will be required to share a photo of the full contents you received, and you are required to approach Learning Online with your concerns as soon as possible. Missing items will not be replaceable after 1 month of having the kit delivered.

Products provided in your kit

Kit products should last for all your assessments; however, if you repeat the same practicals numerous times, you may run out of consumable products. In this case, you will be required to replace these consumable items at your own cost. Our suppliers generally offer discounts for our students.

Some items may be subject to change depending on availability; however, any replacement brands will be of equivalent quality and product. Goods must be fit for their intended purpose – they should be suitable for any particular purpose that Learning Online made known to the student.

Refunds of Products

Refunds of products are not practical after the item/s has been sent out. The right under the Consumer Warranties and Refunds Act to cancel a contract and get a refund is generally limited to a reasonable time after a consumer receives a good and before the consumer has used the goods. Change of mind or discovering you can buy the goods cheaper elsewhere is not an example of a right to a refund.

Kit/s Not Delivered

If your kit does not arrive within 2 months after enrolling in the course, it is the student’s responsibility to notify us that the item/s were not delivered. You will be provided with tracking information from the supplier and Learning Online; it is your responsibility to track the item and pick it up from the post office in the event you are not home when the items are delivered; failure to do so may result in extra charges for re-delivery. Tracking information will be provided to the student within 3-weeks following enrollment unless otherwise advised by Learning Online.

Kit Returns

If, in the unlikely event, you have been approved for a cancellation after your cooling-off period and you have received your kit, you must return your kit to Learning Online in an unused, unopened condition at your own cost, or you will be liable for the cost of the kit. If you are unable to do this, please contact us, and we will assist.
